How do I set up my Genius V400m?

Note: To help prevent issues with your V400m, we recommend that you do the following:

Charge your V400m when you aren’t using it.
Keep your V400m within range of the router.
Connect your V400m to secure networks.

To set up your V400m, complete the following steps:

Load the printer paper
Turn on your V400m
Connect your V400m to your network
Configure your POS
Test a transaction

Load the printer paper

Open the paper compartment on your device by pulling the latch up, and then pull the compartment door down.

How do I replace the paper roll in my Genius V400m?

Note: Use only 57mm x 40mm thermal printer-paper.

To open the paper compartment on your device, pull up the latch, and then pull down the compartment door.
Remove the empty paper roll from the paper compartment.
Insert the replacement paper roll with the edge of the paper at the top of the roll.

My Genius V400m isn’t reading chip cards, what do I do?

Your V400m accepts chip cards. If your V400m is not reading a chip card, check that the card is fully inserted into the card slot.

If the card is fully inserted, but still is not being read, complete the following steps:

Remove the card from your V400m.

To configure a static IP address on your Genius V400m, follow the steps for your connection type:

Wi-Fi

Use the keypad to press 1, 5, and 9 at the same time.

How do I know when the battery level is low on my Genius V400m?

If the battery level is low on your device, you will not be able to run contactless transactions. Your device will not display a contactless payment option on the Payment Selection screen.

Important: Charge your device within 30 minutes of contactless payments failing to prevent your device from shutting down.

If you previously configured a static IP address but you now want to configure a dynamic IP address, complete the following steps:
