To test your Genius P400’s network connection, use the options in the WiFi menu. In the WiFi menu, you can view the network status and test your connection with the Local Area Network (LAN), the Wide Area Network (WAN), or with the internet by using the ping function.
The WiFi screen displays the current network status, which is one of the following:
- Down – If the Network is Down, your device attempts to force a connection. If this attempt fails, your device can’t connect to the LAN.
- Up – If the Network is Up and the gateway ping fails, your device can detect the LAN, but can’t establish connection to the WAN. This can be due to a firewall, a closed port, or your device being configured for dynamic IP address when a static IP address is required.
To test your Genius P400’s connection, complete the following steps:
- From the home screen, use the keypad to press 1, 5, and 9 at the same time.
- Press 1, 5, and 9 again, and then tap supervisor.
