Your customers can pay for their goods using one of the following:
- Swiping their EBT card through your Genius Countertop.
- Using the keypad to type the Primary Account Number (PAN) of their EBT card.
Running a swiped EBT transaction
- Your customer swipes their card through your Genius Countertop.
- (Optional) Your Genius Countertop prompts your customer to select the EBT type they want to use to pay for their goods.
- Your Genius Countertop prompts your customer for their PIN.
- Your Genius Countertop processes the transaction.
Note: Your Genius Countertop displays the EBT Selection screen only when the transaction includes SNAP-eligible goods and your account supports both EBT Cash and EBT SNAP payments.
Running a keyed EBT transaction
- Your customer uses the keypad to type the Primary Account Number (PAN) of their EBT card.
- (Optional) Your Genius Countertop prompts your customer to select the EBT type they want to use to pay for their goods.
- Your Genius Countertop prompts the customer for the following card information:
- Expiration date
- CVV
- Zip Code
Note: If the card does not have an Expiration Date, your customer should press Skip.
- Your Genius Countertop prompts your customer for their PIN.
- Your Genius Countertop processes the transaction.
Note: Your Genius Countertop displays the EBT Selection screen only when the transaction includes SNAP-eligible goods and your account supports both EBT Cash and EBT SNAP payments.
