Can my Genius device remember my POS on startup?

When you enabled Bluetooth connection on your Genius device, you selected one of the following possible connection modes:

Pair every time: On startup, your Genius device forgets all previous POS devices and automatically searches for available POS devices.
Pair with memory: On startup, your Genius device remembers the last POS device it was connected to and automatically reconnects to it.

Why can’t I connect my Genius device to my POS using Bluetooth?

Your Genius device may not be Bluetooth-enabled. By default, Bluetooth connection isn’t enabled on Genius devices. To enable Bluetooth connection, contact our Genius Support Team.

How do I connect to a hidden WiFi network?

Find your network

Use the keypad to press 1, 5, and 9 at the same time.
Tap Com Control.
Tap WiFi.
Tap Configuration, and then use the keypad to enter the password. The default password is 200331.
Tap OK.
Tap New.

My Genius e285 isn’t reading chip cards, what do I do?

Your Genius e285 accepts EMV cards. If your Genius e285 is not reading a chip card, check that the card is fully inserted into the card slot.

If the card is fully inserted, but still is not being read, complete the following steps:

Remove the card from your Genius e285.

Note: Your Genius e285 does not share any sensitive cardholder data with your POS.

Your POS sends information about the transaction to your Genius e285, such as the price and number of items.
