How do I reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions when using my iCT220/250?

To reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions when using your iCT220/250, you can turn on its fraud control settings. The fraud control settings help you to verify that the cardholder’s card is genuine and hasn’t been tampered with. To verify the card is genuine, your iCT220/250 compares the card number on the front of the card with the card number stored on the chip or magstripe.

You can turn on the following fraud control settings on your iCT220/250:

  • Verify the cardholder’s card number – When the cardholder swipes or dips their card, your iCT220/250 displays the cardholder’s card number. Your iCT220/250 then prompts you to check that the number on the screen matches the number on the card. If the numbers do not match, the card might be fake.
  • Enter the last four digits – When the cardholder swipes or dips their card your iCT220/250 prompts you to enter the last four digits of the cardholder’s card number. If the last four digits you enter do not match the last four digits that your iCT220/250 reads from the card, the card might be fake.
