Before using your Genius Handheld, we recommend you do the following:
Check your Genius Handheld’s connection to the internet
The IP address of your Genius Handheld is available on the Admin screen. To access the Admin screen, complete the following steps:
- From the home screen, tap .
- Confirm there is an IP address next to My IP address. If the field is not populated, check your Genius Handheld is functioning correctly.
Check your Genius Handheld connects with our gateway
Run connection tests to check that your gateway connections are working correctly. To run connection tests, complete the following steps:
- From the home screen, tap .
- Tap Test.
- Confirm that the test shows Network test Pass and then tap OK. If the test does not pass, check your Genius Handheld is functioning correctly.
Run a test transaction
We recommend that you use your POS to run a test transaction.
- If the test transaction transfers successfully to your Genius Handheld, cancel the test transaction and start running live sales.
- If the test transaction does not transfer successfully, check your Genius Handheld is functioning correctly.
