: Users with the following roles
can void a checking account transaction:
- Merchant Manager
- Merchant Clerk
- Reporting Manager
- Virtual Terminal Manager
You can void a transaction only while it is in an open batch. If you need to return funds to a customer after the batch is closed, refund the transaction instead.
To void a transaction, complete the following steps:
Step 1. Click the Transaction Finder tab.
Step 2. Select the search period:
a. Click the Date & Time drop-down menu and either:
- Select one of the default search periods.
- Select Custom and use the calendar tool to choose your own search period.
Step 3. Select the terminals you want to include in your search:
a. In the Terminal section, click SELECT.
b. (Optional) To search for a specific terminal, enter the Terminal ID or the Terminal Name into the filter.
c. Select the terminals you want to include in your search.
d. Click SAVE SELECTION.
Step 4. (Optional) Complete the following fields:
- Minimum Amount
- Maximum Amount
- Invoice Number
- PO Number
- Last 4 Digits of Card #
- Clerk ID
- Transaction ID
Step 5. Click the Transaction Type drop-down menu and select the type of transaction to include in the search.
Step 6: Click SEARCH.
Step 7. Click on the Transaction ID of the transaction you want to void.
Step 8. Click VOID, then click SUBMIT.
