A chargeback is when a customer or issuing bank disputes one of your transactions. For example, if a customer has a transaction on their statement that they don’t recognize, they can contact their bank to dispute the transaction. When the issuing bank issues a chargeback, the transaction amount is deducted from your account while the bank investigates the chargeback.
If you have any questions about chargebacks, call our TSYS Chargeback Team.
Important: If you want to dispute a chargeback, you must follow the instructions on the chargeback notification. We cannot formally dispute a chargeback on your behalf, even if the cause is a technical issue.
