Yes. If your customer attempts to pay by inserting their EMV card into the chip reader and your Genius device cannot read the EMV chip, your Genius device prompts your customer to remove their card and try again. After three attempts, your Genius device prompts your customer to remove their card and swipe it instead.
You can turn off fallback transactions on your Genius device. For more information about turning off fallback transactions, contact our Genius Support Team.
Note: If you turn off fallback transactions and your Genius device cannot read your customer’s EMV card, your customer must choose another form of payment to complete the transaction.
