For example, you need to keep the following up to date:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antivirus software<\/li>\n<li>Operating system<\/li>\n<li>POS applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Restrict access to sensitive cardholder data<\/h3>\n<p>You can restrict access to sensitive cardholder data and by doing the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep back-office equipment away from the front of your store.<\/li>\n<li>Apply user roles to your employees to limit access to sensitive cardholder data.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use personal devices for business use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Keep your network secure<\/h3>\n<p>You should also follow our best practices to help you secure your network, which include the following:<\/p>\n<h4>Do<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Use only PCI-DSS approved PIN entry devices<\/li>\n<li>Use a properly configured firewall on your network and computers<\/li>\n<li>Use strong passwords and change the default passwords on hardware and software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Don&#8217;t<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Share passwords with employees<\/li>\n<li>Use passwords more than once<\/li>\n<li>Use weak or insecure protocols for connecting to your access point<\/li>\n<li>Connect to access points you don\u2019t trust or haven\u2019t set up yourself<\/li>\n<li>Leave your POS devices unattended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To help keep sensitive cardholder data secure, we recommend that you do the following: Keep your software and applications up to date Make sure you have the latest updates for any software or applications on your computer or POS system.
