For example, the cardholder using a company email address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Example evidence of your actions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Written communication between you and the cardholder, for example, letters or emails<\/li>\n<li>Shipping confirmation for goods that are in the process of being shipped<\/li>\n<li>Positive AVS address and Proof of Delivery (POD)<\/li>\n<li>Signed POD for domestic only deliveries<\/li>\n<li>Evidence you delivered the goods or services as the cardholder requested<\/li>\n<li>Shipping and delivery of any replacement goods<\/li>\n<li>Explanation of why the transaction date, your merchant name, or your merchant location is different to what the cardholder thought it should be<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"notice notice-info\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> You don&#8217;t need to collect a signature as evidence of delivery.<\/div>\n<h3>What can I do to help prevent chargebacks?<\/h3>\n<p>In addition to the best practices described in <a href=\"how-can-i-avoid-chargebacks\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">What can I do to help prevent chargebacks?<\/a>, we recommend you follow these best practices:<br \/>\n<span><br \/>\nDo:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be careful when manually entering the cardholder\u2019s payment details to prevent keying errors<\/li>\n<li>Imprint the front of the cardholder\u2019s payment card on the bottom of the transaction receipt the cardholder signs<\/li>\n<li>Avoid writing the account number on the transaction receipt.<\/li>\n<li>You should use a manual imprinter because processors don\u2019t consider pencil or crayon rubbings as valid imprints<\/li>\n<li>Use the CVV2 Validation Program for keyed transactions instead of an imprint<\/li>\n<li>Use AVS to verify the cardholder\u2019s address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don&#8217;t:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Change the original imprint of a payment card<\/li>\n<li>Imprint on the back of a receipt or imprint on a blank transaction receipt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to the actions described in What is a chargeback?, you can also provide the following evidence: Example evidence of the cardholder&#8217;s actions Cardholder\u2019s authorization for someone else to sign for goods or services on their behalf.
