{"id":467,"date":"2019-07-30T10:04:46","date_gmt":"2019-07-30T10:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pages.globalpaymentsintegrated.com\/helpcenter2020\/1\/how-do-i-run-a-credit-card-sale-on-my-vx520\/"},"modified":"2023-02-17T15:08:54","modified_gmt":"2023-02-17T15:08:54","slug":"how-do-i-run-a-credit-card-sale-on-my-vx520","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/help.globalpaymentsintegrated.com\/1\/payment-devices\/verifone-vx520\/how-do-i-run-a-credit-card-sale-on-my-vx520\/","title":{"rendered":"How do I run a credit card sale on my VX520?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"notice\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> If the card is not present or you need to key the customer&#8217;s card details, you can run a <a href=\"hardware\/how-do-i-run-a-credit-card-sale-manually-on-my-vx520\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">manual card sale<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p>To run a credit card sale, complete the following steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>From the <a href=\"hardware\/how-do-i-access-the-softpay-home-screen-on-my-vx520-to-start-processing-transactions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SoftPay home screen<\/a>, press <strong>F2<\/strong> (Sale).<\/li>\n<li>Use the keypad to type the sale amount, then press the <strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">Enter<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> key.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>To confirm the sale amount, press <strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">F1<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> (Yes).<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Swipe, dip, or tap the payment card on the terminal.<\/li>\n<li>If the customer\u2019s card is Visa or Mastercard, press <strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">F1<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Select the customer\u2019s preferred language:\n<ul>\n<li>English \u2013 <strong>F1<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Spanish \u2013 <strong>F2<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>(Optional) If the customer is using a card that requires a PIN, they can either:\n<ul>\n<li>Use the external PIN pad to type their PIN.<\/li>\n<li>Use the keypad on the VX520 to type their PIN, then return the terminal to you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The terminal instructs the customer to return terminal to clerk.
