Insert your battery into your Handheld<\/h3>\n<div class=\"notice notice-danger\"><strong>Important<\/strong>: If your battery shows any sign of damage, do not use it and contact our <a href=\"managing-my-account\/contact-us\/#Genius\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Genius Support Team<\/a>.<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>Check the surface of your battery is clean.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the rear battery cover by sliding it down until it clicks, and then lift it off.\n<div class=\"support-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/help.globalpaymentsintegrated.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Genius-Handheld_1-Replace-battery-Remove-Cover.png\" alt=\" Removing the rear cover from the Genius Handheld device.\" width=\"295\" height=\"289\" \/><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Insert your battery by aligning the three gold contacts on the top of your battery with the contacts in your Genius Handheld. Set up your POS with your Handheld<\/h3>\n<p>Your POS communicates with your Handheld using either a static IP address or a dynamic IP address. Consult with your POS provider to determine which type of IP address you should use.
