Before you dispose of an iWL 255 device, remove all sensitive information from it including cardholder details and your merchant account details.
Important: Settle your current batch before you continue.
Removing sensitive information from the iWL 255 device
To complete these steps you must first connect your device to its base so that your device has a wired connection to the internet. The device’s base connects to the internet using one of the following connection methods:
- An Ethernet connection – The base connects to the internet using an Ethernet cable.
OR
- A Dial-up connection – The base connects to the internet using a telephone line.
Important: When you remove the sensitive information from the device, you will not be able to run transactions.
Selecting your connection method
Step 1. From the home screen, use the keypad to press F.
Step 2. Use the keypad to type the password, and then press Enter. The default password is 1234562F.
Step 3. Press 0 (Telium Manager).
Step 4. Press 3 (Initialization).
Step 5. Press 1 (Parameters).
Step 6. Press the Scroll up button, and then select T.M.S.
Step 7. Select which connection method your device’s base uses:
a. Press the Scroll up button to find your connection method:
i. IP/Eth – for an Ethernet connection
ii. Modem – for a dial-up connection
b. Press Enter to select your connection method.
Removing sensitive information using an Ethernet connection
Step 1. Press Enter to select Yes, and then press Enter to select TADU_SSL.
Step 2. Press Enter to select Domain Name.
Step 3. Use the keypad to type the Domain Name, and then press Enter. The Domain Name is DOWNLOAD.TSYSACQUIRING.NET.
Step 4. Use the keypad to type the Port number, and then press Enter. The Port number is 39600.
Step 5. Use the keypad to type 61027240, and then press Enter.
Step 6. Press Enter, and then press Cancel twice. The device returns to the home screen.
Step 7. Press F.
Step 8. Use the keypad to type the password, and then press Enter. The default password is 1234562F.
Step 9. Press 0 (Telium Manager), and then press 2 (Evolution).
Step 10. Press 2 (Remote Load), and then press Enter.
Removing sensitive information using a Dial-up connection
Step 1. Press the Scroll up button, and then press Enter to select PSTN.
Step 2. If your device prompts you to type the access code before you type the phone number, use the keypad to type 18442497001.
Step 3. Use the keypad to type 61027240, and then press Enter.
Step 4. Use the keypad to type the Port number, and then press Enter. The Port number is 39600.
Step 5. Use the keypad to type 61027240, and then press Enter.
Step 6. Press Enter to select Off, and then press Cancel twice. The device returns to the home screen.
Step 7. Press F.
Step 8. Use the keypad to type the password, and then press Enter. The default password is 1234562F.
Step 9. Press 0 (Telium Manager), and then press 2 (Evolution).
Step 10. Press 2 (Remote Load), and then press Enter.
