Preparing a VX680 for disposal

Before you dispose of a VX680 device, remove all sensitive information from it including cardholder details and your merchant account details.

Important: Settle your current batch before you continue.

Removing sensitive information from the VX680 device

Important: When you remove the sensitive information from the device, you will not be able to run transactions.

Step 1. From the idle screen, use the keypad to press Enter and 7 the same time.

Step 2. Use the keypad to type the password, and then press Enter. The default password is 166831.

Step 3. Press 6 (Clear Memory), and then press Enter.

Step 4. Use the keypad to type the password, and then press Enter. The default password is 166831.

Step 5. Press 1 (Clear Config.SYS).

Step 6. Press 1 (Clear All), and then press 2 (Confirm).

Step 7. Press Cancel.

Step 8. Press 4 (Clear all Groups).

Step 9. Press 2 (Confirm).

Step 10. Press and hold Cancel to power off your device.

After you power off the device, dispose of it and its cables.
