Note: When a customer pays using a gift card, our Payments Platform runs an instant sale whether the customer is buying physical goods, virtual goods, or services.
Physical goods
When a customer places an order for physical goods, you can authorize the transaction but can’t capture the funds until you ship the goods to the customer.
Virtual goods and services
When a customer places an order for virtual goods or services, you can immediately authorize the transaction and capture the funds.
